My philosophy is that everyone deserves to be pain free, and I consider it a gift to help others alleviate their pain and live healthy productive lives.
I was born in Varadero, Cuba and came to the U.S. in 1961. I graduated from the University of Alabama (B.S. in Chemistry), Auburn University (B.S. in Chemical Engineering) and the University of Missouri at Rolla (M.S. in Chemical Engineering).
I spent the last 30 years in St. Paul, MN where I worked for the 3M Company in the design and building of Manufacturing Facilities and the handling of Hazardous Chemicals. I also was involved in coaching of high school tennis, and middle school and junior high swimming, softball and baseball.
In 1999 I began to think about retiring and about doing something I would enjoy, and different from engineering. I started in the fall of 1999 to study Holistic Health Studies at the College of St. Catherine where I started to develop an interest in Sports Massage. Since St. Catherine did not offer courses in this area, in the summer of 2000 I enrolled at the St. Croix Center for the Healing Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin, and concurrently took the required courses in this area.
I was fortunate enough to be allowed to do my Practicum and Clinical with the athletes at the College of St. Catherine where I worked from the winter/spring of 2001 to May 2002. I graduated from the St. Croix Center for the Healing Arts in January 2002 and from St. Catherine in May 2002.
We moved to Venice, FL in July 2002 and I began to work for the YMCA from November 2002 through May 2004. Then I began working for the Southside which became Lifestyle Family Fitness/LA Fitness until July 2012 when I opened my new office in 200 Capri Isle Blvd in Venice, FL. I plan to continue to develop my skills and help as many people as possible, as long as the Lord gives me the health to do it.
